Hi IOC folks,
I'm organizing a weekend trip to Ontake-san in Nagano prefecture, together with Jeremy from IAC.
Join us for the fun two days in the snow!!! Here is the rough plan.
March 16 friday
Plan to get on the bullet train (Shinkansen) departs from Shin-Osaka around
18:30 -19:00 to Nagoya. At JR Nagoya station, change the train to JR Kiso-Fukushima.
Stay at minshuku in Kisofukushima.
March 17 saturday
Leave bus to Ontake Kyukamura lodge at 7:00, drop off stuff, then go to Ontake ski
area (arrive about 8:30 am or 9:00 am).
Two groups from here:
1. Ski/snowboard group - buy lift tickets and rentals as usual.
(Lift ticket 2,000 yen, Ski rental 3,000 yen per day)
2. Snowshoe/ Cross-country ski group - Jeremy'll lead a group on a hike (1.5 star)
to the frozen waterfalls, same place we went to 2 years ago. Stay overnight at Kyukamura lodge.
March 18 sunday
Skiing/boarding at Ontake ski area. If many of the participants want to go on a half day snow hike ,
we may hire a nature guide.(cost around 10,000 share with participants) In the afternoon,
we'll return to Kisofukushim by bus, then take the train back to Osaka.
Cost:
Minshuku for Friday night 5,000 yen without meal.
Ontake Kyukamura lodge for Saturday night: 8,000 yen with
dinner and breakfast including free shuttle bus to ski
resort and return to Kisofukushima from the lodge
Micro bus from Kisofukushima to the lodge 15,000 yen
share the fee with participants
Train from Osaka to Kisofukushima 8,500 ? 9,500 yen for one way
To go, we have no choice but taking Shinkansen to Nagoya.
However there are a couple of cheaper ways back to Osaka.
I will give the participants more details for transportation.
If you want to come to Ontake Kyukamura by car, that’s fine too.
If you extend your stay in Nagano, you can leave the group at the lodge on Sunday.
This is a members-only event and we cannot accept cancellations.
If you have to cancel, you either have to find replacement by yourself
or pay the full charge for Kyakamura & micro bus. Deadline of signing up is Feb. 29
but please sign up as soon as possible so that we can arrange the equipment,
the micro bus to the lodge and so on.

1. Which Saturday’s activities do you want to join?
2. Do you need to borrow a pair of snowshoe? I booked 2-3 pairs of IOC snow shoe. So, first come. first serve.
3. Do you prefer to come by car? If yes, are you willing to give a ride for other participants?
4. Are you vegetarian?
5. If we organize a half day snow hike on Sunday, do you want to join?
