Higashi Otafukuyama Hike, May 10th

Why don't we enjoy a day hike to Higashi Otafukuyama before our May monthly meeting?
It's not a tough hike but considering there are some points wherewe need to climb rocks, I name it as a two star event.
Start from Ashiyagawa station on the Hankyu-line at 11:00. We head for Higashi Otafukuyama via the Rock Garden.
I plan to come down to Okamoto station on the Hankyu-line around 3-4pm, then head for Umeda to attend the meeting.
Bring lunch and rain gear.If you join, please let me know.

Seppiko-san hiking on May.17th(sat)

Hello again, I'm planning to go to Seppiko-san on May17(Sat).  If anyone interested,
please send me an email.
Although you can enjoy fun and exciting hiking trails there, I would rate it as 3-star activity as the entire route is quite rocky requiring use of ladders and chains in lots of areas (almost rock-climbing in some parts).
About 5 hours of hiking. Need appropriate hiking shoes and clothes (no jeans).  Limited to 8 people unless anyone volunteers for sub-leader.

Due to inconvenient access (only 2 buses a day), I plan to rent a car and the first 3 will be able to share a ride with me; if more than 4, either need another driver and a car or use the public transportation (then, need to leave Osaka as early as 7:00am)

Cost: Transportation 3,000-5,000 yen/RT depending on how we get there. 

If time allows, I want to stop by at Seppiko Onsen.

IWAWAKI-SAN Hike, ONSEN, BRAZILIAN BBQ - May 18 (sun)

  Come join us Sunday, May 18th for a full day of hiking, onsen and Brazilian food! Our hiking destination will be Iwawaki-san south of Osaka near Wakayama prefecture.  See some pictures of the nearby area at

After the hike, we will head to the onsen for a relaxing soak – and then back to Shinsaibashi in Osaka for a Brazilian dinner. This is my first trip to Iwawaki-san but it appears to be a really nice hike and the map estimates the hike to be 17.5KM / 5.5 hours / 1.5 stars.
When: Meet at 10:00 AM, Sunday 18 May (Most people should try to catch the 9:02 Nankai Koya Line express train  departing from Nankai Namba Station arriving at    Kinotouge station at 9:44)
Where: Kinotouge Station on the Nankai Koya Line
What to bring: Sturdy Hiking Shoes, Lunch, Onsen Kit

I found nice camping place where good access from Kyoto, Nara, Osaka
Let's meet JR Yamashiro-Aodani (JR Nara Line between Kyoto and Nara) at noon and shopping super store BBQ, Beer and BF. I will carry them green park by my car.

Hiker: 7Km hiking from JR Tamamizu (flat course)
Cyclist: 11Km bike from JR Yamashiro-Aodani

I reserved 8 people bungalow,  After BBQ, we will night hiking around Ike one hour.
On Sunday, Kayak, Boat, Fishing are optinal.

North Kyoto hike and camp(Green Hike Part III)May 31-June 1st

Join us a weekend hiking trip to North Kyoto.
New green forests are stunning in this area. We’ll enjoy nice hikes in the late spring.
Here is the schedule.

May 31
Meet up at 8:30 at JR Kyoto Station  (the details will be informed to the participants.)
Go to supermarket to buy food and drinks.
Drive to Hachigamine camp-site
Go on a hike to Hachigamine (3-4 hours) and go to onsen if time is allowed.
Have dinner (a BBQ) Yuri will cook some dishes.
June 01
Wake up at 6:30 and have breakfast.
Drive to Sangoku-dake or Sangoku-touge(Asyu-no Mori)
Go on a hike to Sangoku-dake or Sangoku-touge(4-5 hours)
Go back to JR Kyoto station
**The cost: Approx. JPY10,000-12,000/person including rent-a-car,,high-way, gasoline fee, camp-site, food(Saturday dinner), drinks & onsen
