Events March 2008
2008-03-08 09:00:00 - 2008-03-08 12:00:00 | Hiking *Hike along the old Fukuchiyama train line(again)on Mar.8th(sat)
One Star.Markus and I want to do the railway hike he did in September with some of you on Saturday, 8th of March.
Meeting point is Namaze train station, at 9:30 am.
We will arrive at Takedao train station around 12:30.
From Namaze we will walk about 10 min to the river and the starting point of the old Fukuchiyama railway track.
It follows the river most of the time, so there should be a lot of nice views, and no really steep slopes, so a quite relaxing hike.
It is about 6-7 km long, so it will take about 1.5-2 hours without break, but I would suggest to have lunch at a nice place near the river somewhere.
So please bring some food and drinks, there won't be any kombini and most probably no vending machines neither. :-)
And bring a flashlight, headlamp, candle, or something similar. We will go through 6-7 tunnels of that some are pretty long.

March General Meeting and Elections (Sat Mar 8).
Come along to the March General Meeting to find out what is going on in the club and to vote in the 2008 IOC Elections.PLEASE NOTE THE VENUE CHANGE!
The usual location in Umeda wasn't available so we will have the meeting at the Osaka Shiritsu Chuo Seinen Center in Morinomiya.
It's a 10min walk west of JR Morinomiya Station (Osaka Loop Line). Or an 8min walk from exit 10 of Tanimachi 4-chome station (Tanimachi line). If you are coming by subway from Umeda, it's easier to get off there rather than changing and going on to Morinomiya.
Here's a map

The Polar Bear Swim is a charity event. The swimmers will raise money for a NGO that was established for conservation of nature(I have地t decided yet, for which NGO we are going to donate. We値l discuss together before the swim) People who don't want to swim but want to support their swimming friends can sponsor swimmers. Sponsors should also indicate the maximum that they are willing to pay. If you want more information about how it works, or you want to get some sponsors, send me an email and I'll send you the information and the sponsorship form, which Josh made last year.
Since we need to take a hot bath and have a party after the swim, I booked a guesthouse called BB DYLAN(Former Kihachi), where we stayed last year.
Before the swim, we may go on a short hike to Hira mountains or Mt. Hiei. The schedule is flexible, therefore, please let me know what you want to do Saturday and Sunday mornings.
To sign up, please e-mail me or Yuri. We値l send more details to the participants. Also, please feel free to contact us if you have any questions and suggestions..Hope many of you will join us!!
