Hi IOC folksSuna & I are organizing a camp & hike event as follows.
**Date: Nov. 2- 3 **Star: 1.5 star * Max. 8 people : Member and member痴 friends only
Nov. 2 (Sun)
Meet up at JR Amagasaki,Hyogo in the morning (This is for those who come by car. So far we only arranged one car. If we cannot find one more driver, I may ask some of the members come at campsite by train and bus.)
Go to supermarket to buy food and drinks.
Drive to Mitsue camp-site
Have a BBQ Take a bath or shower at campsite.
Nov. 3rd Mon National holiday
Have breakfast.
Go on a hike to Mt. Miune (3-4 hours) http://piccolo.gooside.com/miuneyama.html
Take a dip at onsen nearby if time is allowed.
Go back to JR Amagazaki
**The cost: Approx. JPY10,000-12,000/person including transpotation, camp-site, food(Sunday dinner), drinks
**What you bring: Tent, Sleeping bag and mattress, onsen kit, raingear and hiking shoes, Sunday lunch, Monday breakfast and lunch, headlamp, Plate, cup, fork and spoon and chopsticks, warm cloths and so on

If we can arrange one more car, we will rejig the schedule and try going two hikes on Sunday and Monday. If you don稚 have a tent, you can borrow IOC tents. One person can sleep in my tent. First come, first serve.

3) Are you vegetarian?
4) Do you have a tent? How large? (I booked two sites only)

Rokko hike nov 3rd
Hi all,Let's enjoy a west part of the Rokko mountain range. This time we pass two mountains Kikusui-yama(459m) and Nabebuta-yama(487m). Both have a fantanstic view of Kobe area.
Start from the Kobe-dentetsu line Hiyodorigoe station at 10:00. Go up to Kikusui-yama and Nabebuta-yama and then the goal is Kobe Shinrin Syokubutsuen
(arboretum) which we can expect beautiful autumn leaves. From the arboretum you can take a bus to Sannomiya(530yen).
If you want, you can come down to Sannomiya directly from Nabebuta-yama.
The walking time is around 4-5 hours. Bring lunch and raingear.

IOC monthly meeting Nov 8th
Hi all!Why don't you come and see what's going on in IOC? Our Nov. monthly meeting will be held on Nov.8th at the same old elementally school building.

For new comers, from 18:00. For members, from 18:30. We will talk about upcoming events and so on. Also, Mauricio will show us the slid about his great trip to Bali.
Afterwards, we will go to somewhere to eat and drink as always.
We will talk about the incident on the Fumie hiking.

We plan to have a safety training Yuri has been developing.
Maybe on December meeting focused on first aid.
Presentation / training about outdoor leadership
and repeat the training every 4-6 months.

Bunagatake hike, Shiga on Nov. 09
Hi All,Join us for a day hike to Mt.Hira!!
I am planning to go on a Bunagatake(highest peak in the Hira-san range) hike with my friend, who knows very well about the area. This hike is a little technically difficult (some scrambling on rocks, and climbing up waterfalls with chains and ladders), and there is about a 1000 m elevation gain and drop, and the walking will last about 8 hours. My friend値l lead the hike.
Level : 2 star
Date: Nov. 9 (sun)
Course (Rough plan):Gullivers Travels Village →Yatsubuchi waterfalls → Bunagatake(1,214M) then go down to the station. We will decide what trail we go down at the peak.
Brings: T-shirt (NOT cotton), long pants(no jeans), sturdy hiking boots, , Rain gear, Lunch, Snacks, Drinks(at least 1.5 Ltr), gloves, Head lamp(just in case), warm shirt
Cost: only transportation
Meeting time and place: Please take the below-mentioned train. I値l ride at the front car of the train.
JR Kosei line Shinkaisoku((Special Rapid Service) train that departs from J JR Osaka at 7:45, JR Kyoto at 8:15 and arrives at JR Ohmitakashima station at 8:55 am. Please don稚 miss the train. You can稚 be late as we'll take a bus from Ohmitakashima at 9:03am .

Soni Kogen hike and Lodge stay, Mie Nov.15-16
Join me a weekend hiking trip to Soni Kogen. We値l enjoy the beautiful susuki grass(pampas grass)and stay at the lodge in Soni,kogen.**Star: 1 star * Max. 8 -10 people
Nov. 15
Meet up at 9:10 at Kintetsu Nabari station, Mie and take a bus at 9:30 to Soni Kogen.
Arrive at Soni Kogen at 10:17 and leave our bags at Soni youth lodge
Go on a hike to Mt. Kuraso (3-4 hours)
After the hike, we値l enjoy the shinning susuki grass at sunset if the weather is good.

Have breakfast and a morning ceremony with other groups(kind of obligation) , clean up the room where we stay at.
Walk around Soni kogen (3 hours)
Take a dip at onsen
Take a bus from onsen to Kintetsu Nabari at 14:30/15:30
Arrive at Kintetsu Nabari at 15:14/16:14
Go back to Osaka by train
**The cost: : Approx. JPY8,000/person including bus, train(from/to Kintetsu Namba) fee, Accommodation with two meal(breakfast and dinner),
**What you bring: raingear and hiking shoes, Saturday lunch, Sunday lunch, onsen kit, headlamp, warm cloths
**The deadline of signing up: Nov. 07
To sign up, please e-mail me. The schedule is flexible and I知 glad to hear any advice or a request from the participants. If some of them are willing to come by car, I may change the transportation and work out the plan again. Since there are strict rules for using this kind of public lodge for school boys/girls, this event is a bit different from normal camp out. I will provide more information to the participants.

2. Are you under 29 years old?(This question is not for my personal interest. Since the lodge is for youth, the fare値l change if we have a person who is under 29 years old in the group.)

Atago(Kyoto) hiking on Nov.24th
Hi IOC folks!!Unfortunately, just only few people are interested in Autumn camp, this year.
So, I decided to organize a one day hike, instead.
Let's go to Atagosan on Nov. 24, shall we?
It will be 5 to 6 hours hike that is started from JR Hozukyou station.
I am planning to meet at 10:00 in JR Hozukyou station.
Autumn leaves should be fantastic in this area, the end of this month!!
