Horai san Hiking sat.Sep.15th
One star or one and half.We will hike from Shiga Station through Biwako Vallay Gondora Station up to Horai san (about 1200m above sea level) summit we'll get fine views of Lake Biwa.
After lunch, we will head to top of Gondora Station and hiking down to Shiga Station. the walking will last about 5 hours at a good pace.
Unfortunatly, the local bus from Shiga to Biwako Vallay not in service until winter.
Meet JR Shiga station 10:12 from Osaka 9:15 1280yen
Bring:
sunscreen, raincoat/windbreaker, warm shirt, lunch, snacks, and at least 1.5L of drinks.
onsen kit. bring long pants and shirtsleeves, along with boots and socks.

Mt. Kitadake Hiking/Camping on sep.22-24.
Three stars, This event only members.Annual september three consecutive holidays koji's event Kita-dake.
If you had missing Estella's hiking last year and you are still looking for something to do on the 3-day weekend in September, why not join this trip to Kitadake 3192m that Japan's second highest peak.

Night Bus to the Southern Japan Alps in Nagano-ken JR Koufu station in early morning.
Night bus is three row sheet, then you can good sleep maybe.

Change to local bus to Hirogawara (about 1500m)
6-hour hike up about 1500 m to a campsite (at 3000m) just below the summit of Kitadake.
Pitch camp and if the weather is good and we still have energy, we will be able to climb to the summit and back to camp in time for dinner.
If not, then we will climb to the summit in the morning.
Even from the campsite, views should be spectacular!
Sep.23rd(sun)
we will be up very early, hopefully to watch the sun rise over Mt. Fuji.
We still have energy, head to south another peak. on the way where we will camp.
Sep.24th(mon)
We will back to Hirokawara and take a local bus to Koufu St.
Take a night Bus three row sheet.

To participate in this trip you need to have some experience of camping and of carrying a pack containing tent and food.
You also need to have your own backpack sleeping bag, mat and Gortex clothing.

inbetween. Might be a bit hairy along the kiretto with
ladders and chains. Camping or Mtn huts. Cancelled or

Fukuchiyama Train Line hike in Hyogo, 23 Sep 2007
Hi everybody,I know the 23rd of September is the weekend when the
Mt. Kitadake Hiking/Camping takes places, but maybe
some people who cannot go to Kitadake (like me) are
interested.
I have never been to this place, but I read an
article at Kansaiscene (look here:
http://www.meetmax.de/temp/Fukuchiyama2.jpg ) and it
sounds fun and not too difficult/exhausting.
It takes about 40 min and 480 Yen from Osaka station
to Namaze (the starting point), and hiking is for fre
of course.
I would suggest meeting at 10:00 at Namaze and then
have a nice hike for a few hours.
So if you are interested to join or have any
suggestions please contact me.
