Daisen Yama Trip in Tottori, June 22-24
Daisen Yama Trip in Tottori, June 22-24***NOTE: THIS EVENT IS NOW FULL WITH 8 IOC MEMBERS. PLEASE WRITE IF YOU WANT TO JOIN THE WAITING LIST***
Dates: June 22-24
People: 2-8
Difficulty:
Medium, 2 Stars, About 8 hours of hiking on Saturday, 6 hours on Sunday.
Please contact me as soon as possible if you want to go, so we can work out further details and the bus tickets there should be reserved soon. This should be a fantastic hike, but it will require a bit of planning.
Transportation:
-If people have/want to rent a car, we can do that.
If not,
We will take a bus from Namba (I think you can also pick it up at Nishinomiya) on Friday night after work. We will arrive late Friday night at Daisen (probably about 10pm). We will then camp (alternatively stay at a youth hostel or inn).
Note: Taking the earliest bus on Saturday morning, we wouldn't arrive until close to 11:00am, which I think is too late of a start to enjoy Saturday.
The Hike:
Saturday we will climb up Daisen (without our gear) and back down. Then, after resting a bit, we will pick up our gear and can camp at the base, or take a different climb up to a lodge/small site I am aware of.
On Sunday, we have a few choices, but one option that looks good is going down the other side of the mountain and ending up at "Senjoo-san-shrine".  From there, we can get to Akasaki, and other transportation.
Weather:
If it looks like strong or heavy rain, I will cancel the trip. Light rain or scattered showers, though, will be acceptable.
Probable Costs:
Bus to Daisen, 3 1/2 hours, 4,600 YEN
Bus from Kurayoshi or Daisen back to Osaka, about 4,600 YEN
Camping - 1,000 YEN for 2 nights
Food, as needed
_____
All other details (including what to bring, etc;) will only be sent to those who email me and tell me they are interested in the hike.
