Rock Climbing / Aid Climbing May 20th
I was thinking of going climbing at a place near Dojoin Hyogo-ken. There is a sport-climbing crag that's
rated for Beginners to Intermediate Climbers. I was
thinking of trying a few routes at the lower grades of
around 5.9 (UIAA: 6-, French: 5+, British: 5a hvs,
Australian: 17). I also wanted to try aid-climbing,
rather than free-climbing, some of the harder routes
around 5.14 (A1).
I have a lot of the equipment we need but the
following would be useful.
Equipment Needed:
(Essential)
1. Rock-climbing Harness
2. Rock-climbing Shoes
(Recommended)
3. Rock-climbing Helmet
4. Quickdraws, Carabiners, etc.*
5. Climbing rope*
6. Rock-climbing protection (nuts, hexes, cams.
etc.)*
* I have these items, but if people have their own
then they should bring them as well.
If you're interested then email me at:
frozenduck@rice.ocn.ne.jp
If the weather isn't great then we might either just
go to Osaka Rock Gym or Crux Kyoto, or just aid-climb
depending on people's preferences.
