We will have breakfast together and held the meeting just after. We will also have to clean the camp before 11am.
After, it’s not organized yet but we can make other groups for hiking or cycling.

We may cancel some activity as well if there’re not enough people.
Please tell us if you have a tent or not. IOC tents should be used for those who don’t have any tent.
The deadline for sign up: June 25th.
If you’re not a member, we will ask you to pay for the camp and food (2000yens) before the deadline (use IOC Post Office Account: #14010-10080821. Name: "IOC").

Tateyama to Kamikochi traverse, Jul 21st - 29th
Three and harf stars. This is supposed to be the ultimate seven-day hike in Japan! It is long but not incredibly hard and no technical skill is required. But as we don’t want to go to any mountain hut (very expensive, crowded … and I cannot eat typical Japanese breakfast anymore!), we will camp, and thus carry tent and food most of the time. So, you need to be perfectly fit to join this trek. Remember you will have to hike 8-10 hours per days with a 15Kg backpack and for 7 days. It is possible to shorten the trek (several escape routes) but only if two persons agree to do it together.
7/21: Leave Osaka/Kyoto (21:50/23:00) by a night bus to Murodo
7/22: Hike to Tsurugisawa (base camp) and climb (without bag) Tsurugidake
7/23: Hike to GoshikiGaHaraSanso through Dainichidake (Onanjiyama)
7/24: Hike to YakushiToge through YakushiDake
7/25: Hike to KurobegorooGoya through KurobegorooDake
7/26: Hike to YariDakeSanso
7/27: Hike to HotakaDakeSansoo through ObamiDake, NakaDake, MinamiDake, KitahotakaDake and KarasawaDake (5 pics over 3000m!)
7/28: Hike to Kamikochi through OkuHotakaDake and MaeHotakaDake. Then, we will take some rest at Kamikochi, have onsen, nice dinner, long sleep and leave by bus on the 29th back to Kyoto /Osaka.
For those who want to go back straight home, a possibility (but more expensive) would be to take a bus to Matsumoto and there a train back to Osaka and arrive on Saturday 28th in the late evening.
Bring: Good hiking shoes, tent (possible to share with someone else of course; and to borrow an IOC tent), mattress and sleeping bag, rain gear, flashlight, small camera, cooking material and food for 7 days (light dried food, cookies, pasta… nothing heavy…). For this kind of hike the weight of the backpack is fundamental: it should be as light as possible! So, take a minimum of clothing, it’s better to be smelly than having a pain on your back!
Cost:
Camping: usually 500 yens / night
Overnight Bus from Osaka/Kyoto to Murodo: 11000 yens
Bus from Kamikuchi to Kyoto/Osaka: 8000 yens
Bus from Kamikuchi to Matsumoto: 4400 yens
Train from Matsumoto to Osaka: 10500 yens (With Limited express and Nozomi).
We also advise participants to get their insurance plan for this event.
