One starWe meet at JR Takatsuki at 9:30.
and go to the starting point of Ponponyama by bus.
We walk to the top for two hours and eat lunch there at 12:00.
We go to the temple Yoshimine to look at cherry blossom.
We go to St. Higashimukou(Hankyu) by bus.
Depending on the situation at St Higashimukou,
we will walk in Mukou City to look at cherry blossom.

MTB ride on the Christian trail Saturday, Apr.1st
One and half starsMountain bike ride to the scenic countryside hills just behind the door step. Before doing “hanami” in the hills of Ibaraki City, we will have an early lunch break at the Madama Mura (see http://www.madamamura.com/). Let me know and I will order for you healthy food, so called “Jomon Lunch”! Start 9:30 am at Hankyu Ibaraki station. We finish with a tea around 3 p.m. at "Chinatsu's cottage" on top of the Abu-yama. Contact us until 29th March.

Potluck Hanami Party in Osaka Castle Park on Apr.2nd Sunday
Spring is coming! Flowers are blooming! So let have Hanami party on April 2nd in the nice park of Osaka castle. So, come and have fun with us! It will be a potluck party. You should then bring some food to share. Some typical food from your own country would be great, even better if it cooked by yourself! Just care not to poison everybody! This will be the opportunity to meet our new committee and sign up for this year. The new committee will also organize some games after lunch.Please sign up by sending email to Benoit and Kei before Friday 31st.

Hakuba Happo/ Goryudake Ski Apr. 7th to 9th.
Two Stars.Spring skiing atHakuba Happo one/47/Goryu ski trip. Stay at Australian owned Snowbeds Inn near former Olympic village. Very convenient in that we can ski two of the best mountains this late in the season. On Saturday we plan to take the shuttle bus to Hakuba 47/Goryu. Next day we ski Happo-one one of the best ski areas in Japan. We will possibly take a van if 4-5 people can participate.
Cost: transport/gas 10000 yen.
Snowbeds inn: 6000yen for 2 nights (3000yen per night)
Lift tickets: 10000yen for both days
Food/miscellaneous: 10000yen
TOTAL COST: about 40000yen with some change
Meeting Day/Place/Time: April 7th Friday night at North side of Jr Sannomiya East Exit at 10PM

Cherry blossom cycling in Nara Sunday, Apr. 9th
One starFor only IOC members
Deadline is March 18th(for a person who need a rental bike)
We go to Nara to look at the Cherry MATABEE.
We meet at St. Kashiharajingu-mae(Kintetsu line) at 9:00.
We pedal a bike to the Cerry MATABEE from St. Kashiharajingu-mae.

a)This cycling event is like walking, not hiking.

Miyama cherry blossom cycle and hike Apr.15-16th

Two Stars:
Come and explore the beautiful countryside of northern Kyoto in cherry blossom season. We'll ride from Kyoto into the mountains on Sat 15 and stay in a lovely thatched-roof farmhouse in a small village.
On Sunday there are a couple of choices as to how we ride out so we can split into two groups if we want to, one harder, one easier. There are also great hiking possibilities so if someone's interested in leading that part let me know. The cost of the overnight stay will be 9000 yen including dinner and breakfast. The farmhouse can also provide
a simple packed lunch for Sunday if requested.
As a hotel reservation is required for this event, please don't sign up unless you're sure you can come!

Spring Hike to Mt.Rokko on Apr.15th
One Star:We are going to undertake the hike with native speakers whose students at the Semester At Sea in the University of V.A. USA.
They tour all over the world during studying on the ship. The one of the destination is Kobe. About 20 students participate in the hike. Please see on SAS: http://www.semesteratsea.com/search.html

The course is quite easy to hike.

own lunch. At Arima Hot Spring we’re bathing
at the”Kin no Yu” or “Golden Bath”
Please bring your lunch and rain gear with hiking style.

Mountain Biking in Hokusetsu Sengari lake on Apr.22nd
Two stars and half.Anyone not been to this heavenly place is missing all the fun. Hokusetsu area
can only be ridden up to middle of May because the single tracks turn into bush.
On a dry day it is mtb paradise as we call it in this area this time of year.
For those of you who have mtb bikes it is an event not to be missed. Will give
mtb tips for offroad climbing and descending which will make you a better rider.
Lady members: there have been many women mtb rider here so come on up. Meet at
JR. Dojo station at 9:30am for this adventure.

Rokko hike on Apr. 22nd
One Star.Anyone intereted in a Rokko hike this Saturday afternoon?
We'll meet at Hankyu Rokko Station at 13:30. Hike up to Hodakako.
It takes about 2 hours one way.
After the hike I plan to go to a public bath and have a beer!

Camp and hike in Oodai-gahara on Apr.29-30th
Two Stars.Since Oodai-gahara is one of the most famous mountains in Kansai area, I guess there's no need to explain. Let's kick off the Golden week in a beautiful nature!

We camp at nearby Wasamata camp site on Saturday, then head for Oodai-gahara on Sunday. If we have time we may visit a onsen(spa) after the hike.
Plan to go by a car, the limit of this event is 8 people.
If you can use your car, please let me know.
Bring: camp set, food for two days, rain gear, hiking shoes
Cost: 5-6000 yen for the camp site and gas.
