Rokko-Arima classic hike Sunday,May 15th

Two stars.
We'll hike the traditional route over Mt. Rokko, beginning our ascent through the "Rock Garden" (sandstone outcroppings) north of Ashiya (also home to lots of wild boars), then up the wooded southern slope of Rokko to the summit (930 m above sea level), where there'll be great views of Osaka Bay, Awaji Island, Kobe, Osaka, end even Wakayama if the skies are clear (or rivers of clouds below us it the skies ain't clear).  After lunching at the top, we'll descend the north side of the mountain, to end our trip at Arima Hot Springs.  There we'll relax and clean off at Kin-no-yu (Gold... err, actually iron, I think... hot water) Onsen.  We can then return to Sannomiya via the Kobe Dentetsu.  The hike should take about 5 hours in total.

Leader :

Meet :
Sunday, May 15, at 9 am, at JR Ashiya station.
