It's membership renewal time so please show up and pay your dues: 4000Y for an annual membership and 2000Y for a six month membership.

In addition, we will discuss the club events for April, and we will have a very special presentation from Kevin Bradshaw about hiking.

Shimanami Kaido and Western Shikoku

Opened recently in 1999, the Shimanami Kaido links Onomichi City in Hiroshima Prefecture with Imabari City in Ehime Prefecture - a unique string of island to island bridges connecting six islands in all - Mukaishima, Innoshima, Ikuchijima, Omishima, Hakatajima and Oshima. The Shimanami Kaido also - as the only link from Honshu to Shikoku - allows pedestrians and cyclists to passage.

Beautiful scenery, laid-back atmosphere, friendly prople and several interesting sights is the trademarks of Shikoku island, Japan's fourth largest island. Shikoku offers elements of traditional Japan that are often hard to find elsewhere, like the sacred 88 temple pilgrimmage dating back more than 1000 years.
