IOC Christmas Party, Saturday, December 11th

HO, HO, HO!  Santa is on his way to the annual IOC Christmas Party!  He’ll be arriving on Saturday, December 11th, in Kobe, at Sapna Indian Restaurant, and he’s looking forward to seeing who’s been naughty or nice!  Come and join the party!  There’s food, drinks, and gifts for all!  HO, HO, HO!

PARTY ESSENTIALS
Date:  Saturday, December, 11th
Place:  Sapna Indian Restaurant in Kobe, Sannomiya
Time:  6:30-9:00pm
Dress: “Formal”

Sign up:  Sign up with Santa’s helper, Shinobu Yoshioka.  E-mail her at specialevents@kioc.org

DEADLINE TO SIGN UP:  November 30th – Don’t be late!  If you do not sign up by this date, we can’t allow you to come because the restaurant needs plenty of notice to prepare the right amount of food for everyone.

Cost:  4000 yen
This includes an all you can eat Indian buffet and three free drink coupons.  Drinks after that are at the regular bar cost, but if you’re smart, you can figure out how to get extra coupons from those who aren’t drinking as much!

Directions:  From Sannomiya Station, walk to Tokyu Hands.  The restaurant is located across the street from the west side of Ikuta Shrine.  The restaurant is on the fourth floor of a restaurant/bar complex building.  It’s up the street from A-1 Steakhouse.
For a map of the area, take a look at the following…

Gifts:&nbsp; Bring a wrapped gift for Santa’s gift exchange (keep it cheap)

Pre-function “Happy Hour” starts at 5:00pm at the Hub English Bar near the restaurant.  Come and enjoy cheap drinks and Christmas cheer with old friends while we warm ourselves up for the real party to come!

Pre-IOC Christmas Party Ice Skating in Osaka, Sat., Dec. 11

To get into the winter spirit before the IOC holiday party, we'll go ice skating at the Osaka Pool on the afternoon of Saturday, December 11.  We'll skate for about two hours (or longer as folks want) and then head to Sannomiya in time for the holiday party.  If you know how to skate, come and show everyone how graceful your figure-skating is!  If you don't know how to skate, come and learn from those of us who do (or who pretend we know)!  Dress up as Santa, Jack Frost, a Hippo in a tutu, Rudolph, or, best of all, the Hanukkah fairy!

Rating: 1 star

Bring: If you've never skated before, wrist guards may help make you more confident on the ice, but are not necessary.

Hike to Hutatabi Park and Arima Hot Spring, Sun. Dec.12th

I know it is bit chilly, out.  Yet, I would love to have one more hike before the end of this year.
I will start the hike from Kobe Subway Kenchoumae station. The hike will go to Hutatabi park and eventually Shintetu Suzurandai staion. From there, We will take train and go to Arima Hot Spring. We will enjoy nice hot spring
there. It is easy hike and I think it is one star.

Maya san - Luminarie Hike, Sunday, Dec. 19th

Here comes the season of Luminarie again. Let's enjoy the festival of beautiful lights!

Before we go there, I plan to have a winter day hike to Maya-san. We will meet at OjiKoen station on the Hankyu line at 11:00am. Hike up to the top of Maya-san and go down to OjiKoen again. It takes about 5
hours.
Afterwards, we take a public bath and have a dinner in OjiKoen, then head for Sannomiya to see the Luminarie.

If you don't know Luminarie, check it out on the net. I am sure you would love to see it.
